April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and it's the perfect time to refresh our commitment to safe driving. Here's how we can make our roads safer:
1. Put your phone away while driving: texting, calling, or scrolling through social media can wait until you're safely parked.
2. Utilize hands-free options for calls and navigation. Invest in a Bluetooth-enabled car system or use voice-activated assistants to keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road.
3. Stay focused and avoid multitasking: Remember, driving requires your full attention. Avoid eating, grooming, or engaging in other distracting activities while behind the wheel.
4. Lead by example – be a safe driver: Whether you're a parent, friend, or colleague, your actions influence those around you. Set a positive example by practicing attentive driving habits.
5. Support law enforcement: Efforts to enforce distracted driving laws. Be mindful of the rules of the road and encourage others to do the same.

Here at the ISU Stephen B. Marvin Agency, we pledge to stay distraction FREE behind the wheel. Do you take that pledge?
